| Plot Summary of Nasty Girls |
"Shy is a street-wise fifteen year old growing up in the projects of New York City. Shy and her best friend Jade dream of a better life that includes moving out of the projects. When Shy meets Raheem, a street hustler who has plenty of money and connections, it isn't long before Shy and Raheem are spending all their time together. Raheem promises Shy that he will get her out of her father's house and out of the projects. When Raheem is viciously gunned down one night right in front of Shy's eyes it changes her life forever. Years have passed and Shy is now in her early twenties and once again connected to a criminal minded man named Roscoe. Despite Roscoe's criminal ties, Shy finds herself falling in love with him and living with him. Jade, Shy's best friend, has also fallen in love with Roscoe's partner in crime, James. Although James is second in command to Roscoe, the men have forged a criminal empire that brings them lavish benefits. When Shy finds out that James is cheating on her, she can't bring herself to leave the man she loves and desperately needs in her life. Meanwhile, Shy and Jade have found a third partner in crime, Camille, a bisexual hustler who wants to be bound to no man. Camille is independent and spirited, and fiercely loyal to her friends. When Roscoe and James become embroiled in a turf war that goes badly, Roscoe ends up being arrested and incarcerated on murder charges. When Shy finds out that her man is facing ten to twenty years in prison, she loses all hope of a happy ending with Roscoe. Worsening the situation, James appears to have ratted out Roscoe in order to avoid prosecution. As Shy and Jade finds themselves at odds while protecting their separate interests, the girls' friendships explodes as revenge and betrayal take center stage."
