| Plot Summary of Six Rainier Drive |
"Justine and Seth Gunderson are a happily married couple living in Cedar Cove, Washington with their four year old son, Leif. When a arsonist burns down their restaurant, The Lighthouse, their lives are suddenly thrust into turmoil. Seth is consumed by anger over the fire and pressuring the local authorities to find the arsonist. The number one suspect is Anson Butler, a local teenager who worked for Seth at the restaurant until he was fired. Since Anson mysteriously left town right after the fire, and had previously set a fire in town, he has been labeled as probably arsonist. Anson's girlfriend Allison Cox is convinced of his innocence, although she can't rid herself of the nagging memory of Anson's clothes smelling of smoke before he left town. The ripple effect of the fire reaches out and affects John and Maryellen Bowman, a married couple who are struggling to survive. Since the fire cost John his job as chef at the restaurant, he must rely solely on his photography work to make ends meet. Maryellen, who is pregnant, is forced into bedrest due to a complicated pregnancy and unable to work. When John's parents step in and offer financial assistance it puts a strain on John since he has been long estranged from his parents after their actions led him to be falsely imprisoned. As Justine and Seth's marriage falters amidst Justine's confession that she doesn't want to rebuild the restaurant, she finds herself turning to her former fiance, Warren Pagent, a man who is still in love with Justine.
