| Plot Summary of 740 Park |
"This is the story of the richest, most extravagant apartment building in New York and almost every one of the people who hgas lived there since it was built just after the stock market crash of 1929. The builder was Jackie Kennedy Onassis' grandfather, James T. Lee, and he lived there, and gave Jackie's not do well father, Black Jack Bouvier a free apartment, where Jackie grew up and once saved her sister Lee Radziwill from killing herself when she tried out a window during one of their parents constant fights over Black Jack's catting around. Over the years some of the richest people in the world lived there and the mega-story here is the development of wealthy society in New York through the years as Mayflower families sold their apartments to bankers and industrial tycoons, who gave way to Greek shipowners, conglomerateurs, greenmailers, private equity people."
