Even in grade school, Carlip decided to take on a new persona - that of Holly Golightly, from "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Thanks to this, her teacher gets her onto Art Linkletter's "House Party." Ever after, Carlip finds ways to be in show business and continued to make herself stand out. She takes up juggling, goes on the "Gong Show", befriends Carly Simon and Carole King, has a part in the Olivia Newton-John movie "Xanadu", is on Oprah, starts her own rock band, and writes a movie for Debbie Gibson. Carlip also examines her love life and being gay in show business. ."
