Plot Summary of The Blanchland Secret
"Miss Sarah Sheridan lived a quiet life as a companion to her cousin. But her family's lawyer, Mr. Churchward, gives her a letter from her deceased brother about his daughter, who she never knew about. The letter explains that since he is now dead, his daughter is in need of help and he wants Sarah to do that. The letter also says that Olivia, her niece, is living near Blanchland, the old family home. However, the family home, is no longer respectable and has the reputation to hold depraved parties. Risking her reputatation, she goes to Blanchland to find her niece and help her.
Viscount Guy Renshaw, who was a well-known rake, was visiting the town that Sarah lived. Running into her, he was immediately attracted to her. But when he learns that she is embarking on a trip to one of the most disrespectable places in England, he wonders who this prim and proper lady really is, and what her real goal in Blanchland is. However, Sarah is the goddaughter of Guy's father and when his father tells Guy to escort Miss Sarah to Blanchland, he is more than happy to oblige, but does not tell her that his father also ordered him to seek out Olivia as well. For you see, Olivia's mother is Guy's sister, who died in childbirth. Guy's father wants to save the family's reputation and keep everything under wraps, especially from Sarah. So as Guy and Sarah both search for the answers to the mystery surrounding Olivia without actually letting others know their quest, they fall in love. But since they are withholding so much from each other, they must learn to get over the lies and betrayals so they may have a happy future."
