| Plot Summary of Only In Your Dreams |
"Only In Your Dreams is written in the same style as the other novels in the Gossip Girl series. Gossip Girl is the narrator of the stories; an unknown person who writes a online gossip column. The books follow the lives of a group of upper-class students in upscale New York. Only In Your Dreams takes place during the main characters summer after graduation. There's Serena; the blonde beauty who's latest stint landed her the role of Holly Golightly in a remake of the classic filmBreakfast at Tiffany's. Blair, a park avenue princess dating a British lord. Nate, who has recently broken-up with Blair (again)and is forced to work for his lacrosse coach in the Hamptons. Dan, a moody poet and his little sister Jenny, who is heading off to boarding school. And Vanessa, a shaven-headed amateur filmmaker and sometimes dates Dan.
In this novel, Serena tries her hardest to win-over her onscreen love interest, without much luck. Blair heads off to London with her lord boyfriend but finds herself competing for his attention with his cousin. Nate falls for a Hamptoms town girl with little class. Dan meets a perky, yoga fanatic named Bree while working at a bookstore. Vanessa's sister returns home from her band tour with a new boy-toy and Vanessa finds herself homeless. Needless to say, Blair quickly tires of her lord and his kissing cousin, so she moves back to New York and lands a job with a top fashion designer. She then moves into an apartment with Serena, who is having trouble with her acting debut. Dan's dad offers Vanessa a place to live and Vanessa finds herself a job with a top director. "
