"Prince Tariq is awashed anew with bitter memories when news related to Faye Lawson has surfaced. Adrian Lawson, Faye's brother, has been charged with fraudulent activity in Tariq's state. Prince Tariq has fallen hard for Faye when she has been only 19-years-old. He has married her only to find out that she and her father has conspired to only obtain money from him. Disillusioned he leaves her and as an insult gives her half a million pounds. Now Faye returns to his presence to ask for pardon for her brother's misdeed. But Tariq is not easily forgiving and he tells her explicitly that if he wants to free her brother, she'll become his mistress for an indefinite period of time. Love for her brother and pressure from her father push Faye into agreeing with Tariq's condition. The day her brother has been set free has been the day also when Faye enters Tariq's world. Despite his accusations, Faye has fall in love with Tariq when he has courted her before. But it has been her stepfather's doing which has Tariq turned against her during their sham marriage. Faye has been devastated when Tariq tells her that the marriage has been a charade all along. Now she is shocked to find out from Tariq that she has been really married to him and he has not divorced her yet despite the year of separation. Tariq introduces her to his clan as his wife and he treats her like a bride instead of a mistress. Inside Tariq's palace, she fills her time with attending to Tariq's needs and being surrogate mother to his younger brother and nieces and nephews. Both their passion and love for each other has been rekindled and Faye is deep in love with Tariq. But Faye believes that Tariq only wants for her body and doesn't love her. She finally decides that she doesn't want to be treated like a mistress and demands a divorce from Tariq. Tariq is dismayed for he doesn't want to let Faye go. "
