Angel Morrison goes to Derek Carter once again to seek his protection by seducing him. She has been devastated months ago when Derek cut his relationship with her publicly and humiliating her in front of the company's employees. When she tells him about his child, Derek tells her to get rid of it. After that Angel doesn't want to have anything to do with him. But just recently she has had threats and anonymous phone calls. She gets into an accident where in her car has almost been run over causing major injury to her leg. When she arrives at Derek's office, she is shocked to find a different Derek. The attraction between them is more combustible and Derek is more attentive to her. When he finds out about their child, Derek insists on being present in the child's life. He takes care of Angel's needs and sees to their protection. Angel is wary of Derek's intentions. She can't trust him fully for she believes that his powerful family might take her son away from her. But as time goes by, she begins to lean on Derek's strength. She falls in love with him again and confides her fears to him. Dane is furious about what has happened to Angel after Derek abandoned her and now he completely believes her innocent of her brother's death. And he vows to protect her at all cost. When Angel finds out Derek is dead and the present Derek is really Dane Carter, his twin brother, she is furious at his betrayal. She wants to get out of his life quickly. But Dane feels more deeply for Angel and is not ready to let her go yet with the threat to her safety. He proposes marriage to her offering her sanctuary against any threats and against his family who might want to claim her son. Angel agrees knowing that she can't protect her son by herself. Moving in with Dane, she finds that despite his deception, Dane has been a pillar of strength and is the man whom Angel is still in love with. But even in Dane's house, the murderer is still able to send a creepy call to Angel. Dane wants to find the real identity of the killer quickly before he can get to Angel.
