"Martina Logan and Noah Coltrane have a brief but passionate affair when they have been at Chicago. Their families have had a raging feud that began with their grandfathers. In Chicago, they pretend not to mind their family's violent history but concentrate on the joy they found with each other. But after the affair has been over, Noah wants more of Martina but she suddenly disappears. Tracking her down at her brother's wedding, he has been met with her brothers' hostility and refuses him to see Martina. But Noah doesn't give up. Martina is afraid of what Noah will do next. She has just found out that she's pregnant with his child. When her brothers find out the father's name, they will certainly kill Noah. However Noah finds her in her condominium unit 6 weeks after with her showing pregnancy. Noah is livid that she didn't tell him about his baby. He decides to become part of her pregnancy and the baby's life after it is born. He tells his family about Martina's pregnancy. Although they have objected with their negative sentiment for the Logan, Noah wins them over. Noah goes to Martina's place almost every day, checking up on her, taking care of her needs, and looking after her welfare. Martina has already told Noah that she won't marry him. But Noah is stubborn. He consents to her refusal of marriage but he still insists that he takes care of her. As Noah spends time with her and being attentive to her needs, Martina is faced with the danger of falling in love with him. She has never gotten over him when they have had the affair in Chicago. When Noah gets into an accident, Martina rushes to his side. She stays even with him in his house which is full of Coltrane brothers. At first she is intimidated by Noah's brothers but they eventually accept her presence and permanence in Noah's life. However much as she wants Logan, she is torn between Noah and her brothers. She doesn't want to cause her brothers heartache if she stays with Noah. She stays in Noah's ranch until her brothers charge after her in the ranch and take her away from Noah. Seeing that there's no way of stopping the feud between the Logans and the Coltranes, Martina in a panic drives away from the ranch leaving both Noah and her brothers arguing. However a sudden tornado sweeps into the town endangering Martina. When Noah finds out he rushes to Martina's car and saves her. Martina's brothers finally see how the feud has affected her and how Noah loves her. So they accept Noah and agree that he can marry their sister. "
