| Plot Summary of Hopelessly Devoted |
"While working in Los Angeles as a Web Designer for wealthy businessman Sam Winters, Rosalind Carmichael is floored when her boss pops the question out of the blue. Rosalind has no intention of marrying the opiniated, chauvanistic millionaire and she refuses his strange proposal. Six years later Rosalind is living in New Jersey and facing a crisis involving her younger brother Tony. Tony has "borrowed" $200,000, with no hopes of repaying the money to the criminal minded individuals who are now threatening his life. When Tony asks Rosalind to borrow the money from her former boss, Sam, Rosalind is appalled. Fearing for her brother's life, Rosalind has no choice but to track Sam down and approach him for the money. Sam agrees to Rosalind's request, but on one bizarre condition. In exchange for the money, Rosalind must live with Sam for a period of one year and perform the duties of his web designer, cook, housekeeper, massage therapist, adviser and possible lover. Although Rosalind is engaged to doctor Ben, she agrees to Sam's proposal out of desperation to save her brother's life. Rosalind knows that she can handle the intimacy of living with Sam without jeopardizing her relationship with Ben, compromising her morals or falling for Sam. After all, Rosalind thinks Sam is nothing more than a jerk with money. Little by little, Rosy realizes that beneath Sam's gruff exterior lies a diamond in the rough. When she finds herself falling for Sam, Rosy asks herself if a man like Sam could really have true feelings for an ordinary woman like herself. Sam has loved Rosy for six long years and he has no intention of letting her slip through his fingers again. But can Sam convince Rosy that he is interested in more than just one night between the sheets?"
