So when hotel owner Blake Cocharan proposes to her a business offer where she will be the head chef of one of his hotels, she refuses for it will tie her down to one place. But when Blake innocently mentions her arch enemy, who she thinks is not at par with her standards is his next choice, perfectionist Summer is enraged that she will be compared to a low-class chef. She falls right into Blake's trap and accepts his offer.

However work turns difficult when the existing chef refuses to work with her and the other kitchen employees are lax with their work. Outside of work, Summer likes to eat fast-food and wants other to cook for her. She even craves Oreo instead of her own desserts. Despite the intimacy they have shared, she seems to withdraw from him, not wanting to commit her feelings. Blake later on realizes that he is in love with Summer and he works hard to let Summer believe that. But Summer is jaded when it comes to marriage. She highly believes that there is no such thing as lasting love. She has seen how her own mother goes from one man to another, getting miserable after breaking off with each man.
