Plot Summary of Family Manager
"In Family Manager, Kathy Peel has created a new system for people to organize their home management needs. Kathy's book is so practical largely because she struggled with family management herself.

Taking principles from books for business managers, Kathy has readers break down homemaking into 7 "departments". These departments are:

Time Management (includes scheduling appointments)

Food Management (purchasing and preparing meals)

Managing Home & Property (this is where household maintanance comes in)

Financial Management (budgeting and estate planning are included here)

Special Projects (yard sales, vacations, birthdays and more)

Family and friends

and

Personal Management (so you can grow as an individual and take care of your own needs)

Peel has readers create mission statements for each department and how they want that area of homemaking to function. She encourages them to make sure that their goals meet their own family's unique needs. Readers also rate themselves on a scale from 1-10 on how well they managing the individual departments so they can then choose which one they need to improve first.

The book is filled with practical tips on organizing and managing each department. Motivational thoughts are shared along the way too."
