"This book describes actor Clint Eastwood's early days of growing up all the way to his career in the mid nineties. One gets a sense of his early days, his love of Jazz, his many relationships, and his appreciation of acting.
You'll find out about his various jobs like his lifeguard days and piano playing at bars even when he was under age. You also get a sense of how he became a star by shooting during the summer in Italy the Spaghetti Westerns while on hiatus from Rawhide.
You'll discover his many friends from old Hollywood to more recent times and their influence on him. You'll find out how he began as a studio contract player and even spent time in Europe doing some artsy projects. Schickel describes his early days of television and how he'd sit on film sets and observe which would ultimately lead to a succesful directing career.
The book then takes you from his marriage, his kids, his divorce, and mhis many other relationships with Hollywood leading ladies. You'll find out about his relationships with Dirty Harry director Don Siegel and Italian director Sergio Leone and how they influenced his own directing career.
