Plot Summary of We Were Soldiers....Once and Young
"Col Hal Moore and 395 US American troops form the 1/7 Calvary of the US Army were the first Air Mobile Unit of the Vietnam War. These men flew into a LZ(Landing zone) in the intent of seeking out and destroying the VC(VietCong Army). What was suppose to be a simple mission turned out to be one of the bloodiest battles of the war at the Ia Drang Valley. To the troops it was known as the "Valley of Death". Read how Col. Moore managed to hang on to the hot LZ for days of Nov 14-16,1965 and brought all his soldiers home dead or alive. What a battle it was for the enemy had 4000 well trained soldiers against our 395. Plus read how a platoon of soldiers were surrounded but managed to be saved without being destroyed."
