Plot Summary of Lyon's Gate
"Jason Sherbrooke has been in America for 5 years learning everything he can about horseracing and breeding from the American Wyndhams. He has also been running from his own memories of years earlier when the Sherbrooke family was almost destroyed by enemies from his father's past and he blames himself for the attempted murder of his father, the Earl of Northcliffe. Now it is time to go home. Upon returning home his brother James tells him of a ranch for sale not far from Northcliffe and they ride to Lyon's Gate to look it over. While there Hallie Carrick rides up and informs them she is buying the ranch and she will be breeding and racing horses. Jason goes to London to buy the property from the attorney who is handling the arrangements for the owner and Hallie finds the owner and buys it from him. They find out that it has been purchased by a third party who in turn sells 50% of it to each of them. Hallie in invited to stay with the Sherbrooke's while she and Jason do some much needed remodeling and against all propriotity they both move in.This ruins Hallie's reputation. Hallie has been hurt almost as badly from a prior relationship as Jason and her former fiance shows up to beg her forgiveness and marry her. She refuses him again but he is very determined. Jason begins leaving Lyon's Gate several nights a week leaving Hallie to wonder why. They are a good match when it comes to running the ranch and horse racing and find they are attracted to each other. Hallie is overcome one morning and is trying to seduce Jason in the stables when her father, Alex Carrick finds them resulting in their having no choice but to marry. Jason is willing to do the honorable thing. The only problem is that Hallie must overcome Jason's memories of 5 years ago."

"    Jason Sherbrooke is the son of Douglas Sherbrooke and the twin brother of James Sherbrooke. In the past, he fell in love with a traitorious woman who tried to hurt his family, and for this he cannot forgive himself, so he self-exiled himself to Baltimore. After five years, he decides it is time to return to home to England. After he arrives, he decides he wants to start a stud farm and his brother tells him of neighboring estate up for sale, Lyon's Gate.
   Hallie Carrick is the daughter of man whose life is based at sea. All her family is equally involved in ships, but her passion is horses, and after a bitter end to a past engagement, has decided to run a stud farm. When she learns that Lyon's Gate is up for sale, she tours the estate and decides it is perfect for her.
   When Jason and Hallie meet, the sparks fly, even though the fight the attraction they have for each other due to their past hurts. When the owner of Lyon's Gate sells each of them half of the land, they must learn to work with each other, because they both refuse to sell to one another. As they begin to build the estate, the attraction and lust turns to love, and together they begin fight the issues that have taken over Jason's life and jaded Hallie's trust. As they finally decide to marry, the couple must fight outside forces that threaten their union."
