Plot Summary of Losing My Mind: An Intimate Look at Life With Alzheimer's
"Tom DeBaggio is 57 years old when his doctor tells him that he has Alzheimer's in its early stages. He suddenly is confronted with the fact that from now on he will gradually and literally 'lose his mind', that his memories of earlier days will fade, he will forget his daily habits and plans, and ultimately even fail to recognize and remember the people that he loves. There is no way, moreover, that this process could be reversed.

This, DeBaggio decides to write down what he remembers of his life as well as how he perceives the illness to gradually proceed. He lets the reader experience with him how everyday life and the faculty of memory begin to deteriorate and how life itself becomes scattered and fragmented. A most memorable first person account of Alzheimer's and how to live with it. "
