Plot Summary of Vienna Prelude
"Elisa Lindheim is a violinist with the Vienna Philharmoni Orchestra, who adopts an Aryan stage name for protection. All seems right in the world, until Nazi darkness descends upon Europe. There are those who choose to fight Hitler's madness, Elisa's father Theo. A courageous American reporter, John Murphy. Winston Churchill, the British statesman. A farm family in the Tyrolean Alps. The Jewish Underground. No one is who they say and nothing is what it seems as swastika flags begin to cover Europe. Spies and secrets lurk behind every corner. The violin cases carries more than firts glance and books reveal more than what is merely typed on their pages. As Elisa struggles to save a few her Father is captured by the Nazi's under suspicious circumstances. Leah, a talented Jewish cellist and Elisa's best friend, tries to make it our of Germany in time. The clock is running out for those the Nazi's consider enemies of the state and the third reich. Thomas, Elisa's lover, now works for the Nazi's. But being behind Nazi lines can help Elisa, as long as no one finds out. Now the American reporter has fallen for Elisa but can a quick marriage solve all their problems? Elisa's Father is finally able to escape the concentration camp and Elisa and John Murphy try to get him out in time."
