Plot Summary of Soldier of Fortune
"Gabby Darwin is a twenty-three year old paralegal. Her boss is J.D., who is a successful, thirty-six year old criminal lawyer in Chicago. J.D. tells Gabby that his sister has gone missing. He tells her that he has to go to Italy and he needs her help to pose as his lover. She agrees and they head to Italy. The two share a suite and the sexual tension starts to heat up, but nothing happens. They find out from a man named Dutch(from The Tender Stranger)that his sister, Martina, is at a farm in Guatemala. J.D. sets up things, so that they can stay at his friend's farm. The farm is near the one that Martina is at.
They head to Guatemala and meet up with J.D's friends. They arrive at the farm and they plan a undercover assignment that would involve J.D. going undercover and Gabby being in communications. They practice it and wait overnight. Gabby finds out that J.D. was a mercenary and that all his friends were part of his old team. Gabby discovers how much she loves J.D. They start the procedure and find Martina, but something goes wrong. While trying to run away, Gabby shoots a man and saves J.D. He becomes furious and when they go into his room to pack he harasses her. She becomes furious and tells him that she is going to find another job. J.D. tries to apologize, but Gabby still decides to quit. Everytime J.D. tries to touch her she shrinks back from him and he figures out that she's scared of him. He tries to win her back."
