| Plot Summary of Dawn: Warriors The New Prophecy #3 |
"The Four clans of cats who live in the forest by the rules StarClan, the ancestor cats, have laid down, are becoming worried. The humans have started tearing up the forest and cats have started to go missing. No one knew that Tawneypaw, Brambleclaw, Squirrelpaw, Crowpaw, Feathertail and Stormfur were sent on a mission by StarClan to look for a new home. When they finally return they are viewed with suspicion. Most of the clans feel like they ran away because they were scared. Others refuse to believe that StarClan would want them to move away from the homes they have lived in for centuries. Squirrelpaw is devastated to find out that her sister has gone missing and Stormfur has to tell his father that Feathertail died saving them from a wildcat. Their homecoming is more discouraging then anything else. Each of the cats now have to return to their own clans and try to convince their leaders to leave the forest. WindClan agrees almost immediately, because they have been affected the most by the humans encroachment. There is basically no prey left in their area of the forest. They are so weak though that they cannot leave without the other clans. Fireheart the leader of ThunderClan knows they must leave but feels that all the clans must stay together, so he begins to work at convincing the leaders of ShadowClan and RiverClan to leave as well. Meanwhile, Squirrelpaw is desperately trying to find her sister. A dream from StarClan shows her a small house with all the cats imprisoned in it. When she gets there, humans are loading the cages with the cats into cars. As she runs back for help she meets up with a patrol lead by Graystripe, the deputy. He decides there is no time to waste and they make a plan to free the cats from the cages. They manage to free all the cats, but a human catches Graystripe and drives away with him. Fireheart is thrilled to have his daughter Leafpaw back, but devastated to hear his best friend has been lost. He refuses to name a new deputy in hopes that Graystripe will escape and make his way back to them. The humans have done so much damage to the forest that all the leaders finally agree that they must leave. So begins their dangerous journey to their new home."
