| Plot Summary of The Darkest Hour: Warriors # 6 |
"For generations, four clans of wild cats have peacefully shared the forest according to laws laid down by their ancestor clans. ThunderClan is grieving because their leader, Bluster, has sacrificed herself to save them from a ravenous dog pack. Most of the ThunderClan warriors want to attack ShadowClan to avenge Bluestar. They suspect that ShadowClan's leader manipulated the dogs into attacking them. Fireheart calms them down by reminding them that ShadowClan may be unaware of their leaders actions. Tigerstar was once a member of ThunderClan, but he was exiled for killing the clan's deputy. Ever since he was exiled, Tigerstar has been out to avenge himself on ThunderClan. Now that Bluestar has died, Fireheart will have to succeed her as clan leader. The next day he travels to the Moonstones, where he will commune with the ancestor cats and receive his nine lives. During the ceremony Bluestar warns him that something terrible is about to happen, but doesn't explain further before disappearing. The first thing Fireheart must doe is choose a new deputy. He decides on Whitestorm, a wise warrior. The next challenge Fireheart has to deal with is Darkstripe, a friend of the traitorous Tigerstar. Darkstripe has poisoned a kitten who saw him sneaking away from camp. Fireheart has no choice but to exile him. Darkstripe goes straight to Tigerstar, starting a chain of events that will lead to a life and death battle between Tigerstar and Fireheart. "
