| Plot Summary of Camp Ford |

"During the 1946 World Series a 99 year old timer is asked to relate the tale of the greatest baseball game of his life time. Thus begins the remarkable story of Winthrop (Win) MacNaughton. Win's father, an Abolishionist, joins the Union Army and is killed at the Battle of Gettysburg.
Win follows his father's footsteps and enlists in the 3rd Rhode Island Calvary. At the Battle of Sabine Crossroads, Win's unit is routed and sent fleeing. Win is captured and begins the long march to Texas and Camp Ford. At the outskirts of the prison stockade Win attempts to escape but is re-captured by a former baseball team mate from Texas.
Win's CO, comes up with a plan to divert the guards attention that will allow some prisoners to escape. That is how a baseball game came to be played between Union prisoners and Rebel guards at Camp Ford."
