Plot Summary of Journey to Topaz
" Yuki is an eleven year old girl who lives at home with her loving mother and father and her smart brother.   She is a normal girl except for one thing, she is Japanese.    Her life was normal until the day that Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese.   Her parents got upset, but she didn't start to worry until the FBI showed up and took her father away.    Then she learned that she would have to leave her friends and go to a concentration camp just because she was Japanese.   She goes there and finds that the camp is a hard place to live in where you have to wait in long lines for every little thing from going to the bathroom to getting breakfast.    She does meet a friend there and that makes her feel better.   Then her friends Grandfather dies and her friend becomes sad.
On top of all of that, she learns that they are moving to a camp in the middle of Ohio.   It is very dust but she learns to live with it.    She is content until a gang threatens her father because he works so well and gets along so well with the white men and women.   "
