Plot Summary of The Witness
"Roxy and her best friend Ursula notice how mysterious the latest arrival to their seaside home town is. Lee is very secretive but he has a terrible temper. After hurting one of his girlfriends, Roxy and Ursula bet on who would go out with Lee first and wear his cap into school the next week.
Rozy then decides to sneak into Lee's house when he and his parents are out to dinner, certain that he would not be allowed to wear his cap to the country club. She takes photos of his room for proof but cannot find the cap. She suddenly hears an argument downstairs and tries to sneak out, catching sight of Lee fighting with a girl. The next day she hears that the girl had been murdered, and reports Lee to the police, but they let him go due to the lack of hard evidence.
After being told that her boyfriend had been involved in the murder, Roxy goes out with Lee and he doesn't seem to be violent at all, until he finds the photos of his room..."
