| Plot Summary of Charon's Landing |
"Philip Mercer, geologist-adventurer, is swept into an action backed by the US government to prevent Ivan Kerikov, ex-KGB operative, from successfully crippling
US independence by destroying most of its oil production while working to install a power-hungry Arab, Hasaan bin-Rufti, as leader of a new amalgam of Arab states.
Rufti plans to install himself as the new leader of an entirely new Middle East formed from the collapse of the UAE with the help of his henchmen and the nations of Iran and Iraq. Philip crosses the path of the mystery-laden boat JENNY IV while at sea with friends, and all of his acquaintences who were on board the WAVE DANCER with him that day are murdered. All signs lead to Kerikov and the chase to unravel and foil the villain's ambitious plans begins.
Mercer becomes enthralled by the firey Agatha Johnston who is involved with the leader of an environmental group, unknowingly being exploited by Kerikov.
While fighting to save the Alaska pipeline, Mercer is captured and finds himself a fellow prisoner of Agatha. They escape and set off to cut the strings holding Kerikov and Rufti's coup together."
