| Plot Summary of Stolen Magic |
"Simon Malmain, Earl of Falconer, is a Guardian and a mage, a human with magical powers derived from forces of nature. His role in 18th century Britain is to hunt rogue Guardians who misuse their power. Simon is hunting Lord Drayton when he is transformed into a unicorn by Drayton's spell. Drayton intends to kill Simon in his unicorn form in order to gain enormous power.
Simon is unexpectedly rescued by Meg, a mad old woman who has been confined to Drayton's estate. Meg is able to transform Simon back to his human form. When Simon and Meg flee together, they discover that Meg also has been under one of Drayton's spells. Meg is not mad, nor as ugly as she appeared, but an attractive young woman with potentially great magical powers. But Meg cannot recall who she is nor can Simon entirely free her from Drayton's influence unless he confronts the rogue. In order to protect Meg and have her help defeat Drayton, Simon marries Meg.
Together, with other Guardians, they learn that Drayton has kidnapped unwary humans with magical abilities and harnessing their power for himself. As Simon and Meg try to free the captives and figure out what Drayton is plotting, they discover a passion for each other, but it appears that Meg's virginity gives her the power to transform Simon back from Drayton's unicorn spell."
