Plot Summary of At Midnight
"Geared to the young adult crowd, the novel is based on the story of Cinderella. As Ella Browning is mourning the untimely death of her father, her stepmother banishes her to the attic, and turns her into the personal maid of her two stepsisters. Ella plans to go to visiting Prince Will's big Christmas party with her friends, but her stepmother thwarts her efforts at the last minute. Ella receives assistance, however, from a "fairy godmother" in the form of a woman who runs a local charity. She makes it to the ball in time to meet Prince Will, who just so happens to be looking for a prospective princess. "
