| Plot Summary of Guardians of Gahoole: The Journey |
"Soren, Glyfie, Digger, and Twilight set their wings on the Great Gahoole Tree. They are determined to get there and find noble owls who will help them fight against evil forces such as St. Aggie's Academy.
However, getting there will not be so easy. Marauding crows will mob them if they are not safely hidden away before daylight. Other owls will turn away from them and refuse them shelter, thinking that the band of owls are only a gang of misfit orphands and flyaways.
Other obstacles are also present. The deadly and captivating eerie beauty of the Mirror Lakes spellbinds the owls and makes them forget the entire purpose of the journey. However, with a little help from the venerable Mrs. Plithiver, they will break free of it.
As they near the Tree, they are assaulted by icy snowstorms and blizzards. After getting blown off course, they finally reach the Tree.
The Tree is a lot different than the band had expected. Instead of their focus on battles, the Guardians of the Tree are centered on learning. The owls are divided into chaws where they learn specialized, helpful skills like colliering (diving after coals), weather (how to fly in all kinds of weather), search and rescue.
While Soren is learning weather, the Great Tree has received news that a group of fallen Barn owlets are badly wounded.
To Soren's shock, his long-lost sister, Eglantine is among of these owls. But a strange spell is upon these owls and it nearly breaks Soren's heart to see that his beloved sister cannot recognize him. Can he break the spell over his sister?"
