| Plot Summary of The Right Address |
"Melanie Sartomsky is a woman of humble origins, having grown up in Cashmere, Washington in a motor home with her alchoholic father and numerous siblings. Melanie's one goal in her young life was to get out of Cashmere by any means necessary. Armed with her beauty and her survival skills, Melanie leaves Cashmere and ends up working as a hotel concierge, a production assistant and a hostess. During her tenure as a flight attendant Melanie meets New York billionaire Arthur Korn. Arthur is mourning the end of his marriage and is a lonely man looking for companionship. After a quick courtship, Arthur and Melanie get married. As Melanie gets acclimated to Arthur's ritzy Park Avenue lifestyle in New York, she is forced to contend with the larger than life image of Diandra, Arthur's first wife. Although Diandra doesn't even reside in New York, her reputation is legendary and revered. Melanie is determined to rise to the top of New York's social scene and outclass Diandra. Melanie's youth, beauty and Black American Express card make her the envy of other Park Avenue socialites, who tear her apart behind the scenes and label her a social climber. All Melanie wants is to be accepted by the society mavens and to be the toast of Park Avenue. During a lightbulb moment, Melanie comes up with the idea of sitting down for an interview with Billy Crispin, New York's most infamous gossip writer. When the interview goes terribly wrong and Melanie is portrayed as a tacky social climber, it appears that her dream of rising to the top of New York's social world is ruined."
