| Plot Summary of Full Tilt |
"This is the second in a series by Janet Evanovich. The first book is Full House. These aren't a series in the classic sense of the word. The word "full" is in each title and the general themes are the same, but they are not repeating characters. In the first one, the series was meant to be more romantic that Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. But with this second book, it reverted back to the mystery genre. There is a small hint of sexual attraction in it, but no more so than any other mystery. In this story Jamie owns a small town newspaper in South Carolina. She is struggling to make ends meet. Her friend Deedee convinces her wealthy brother in law to help her out. Which he does and is happy to. Especially because he was coming to town anyway. Deedee's husband Frank Fontana is running for mayor with a campaign promise to discover where the county's missing taxes are. Apparently someone doesn't want anyone digging into the city's books. Someone makes an attempt on Fontana's life, then Max and Jamie. They are constantly under threat throughout the story while Max, Frank, and Jamie try to figure out who doesn't want Frank elected. They are aided by Muffin, the Nightrider-like computer who breaks into the country's computers through the car's computer. Jamie was engaged to the bland Philip at the beginning of the story, but heads off into the sunset with Max at the end, off to solve another mystery."
