Plot Summary of Rome's Revenge
"Rome d'Angelo is being blackmailed by his estranged grandfather into helping the old man get revenge on an enemy. His grandfather threatens to call in a loan on Rome's vineyard unless Rome proposes to, and then jilts his enemy's grandaughter, Cory Grant. Rome is not happy with the idea, but it's the only way he can save his vineyard, so he agrees. At first Rome thinks Cory is a spoiled, pampered, rich girl, but after he gets to know her he's surprised to find that he not only likes her, but is attracted to her.

Cory is an heiress, but she isn't spoiled or pampered. She was engaged once, but her former fiance betrayed and hurt her badly when she found out he was just using her to get her inheritance. Now she feels that she's undersirable, and can never have a good relationship with a man.

Cory knows that Rome is somewhat mysterious, but doesn't know that he is actually the grandson of her grandfather's enemy, and before long she can't resist falling in love with him. Rome eventually realizes that Cory has become more important to him than his vineyard. He'll do anything to keep her in his life, so he proposes marriage to her. But he's in a quandary. If he confesses the truth about who is, she might never trust him again, but he can't keep up the deception much longer because his hateful grandfather is getting impatient and threatening him. One way or another Cory is going to find out the truth, and then he might lose her and his vineyard.
