Plot Summary of Getting Lucky
"When marine Zach Taylor takes a leave of absence and goes home to visit his sister in their California home, he is not happy to find his sister gone and a sexy blonde bombshell in residence. His sister Glynnis is young and rich, and has a history of trusting the wrong people. Zach assumes that their new tenant, Lily Morrisette, is just another free-loader after his sister's money, and he treats her horribly. He is enraged when Lilly tells him that Glynnis has gone off with her fiance to meet his family.

Zach was unaware of his sister's engagement and believes that she is once again being taken advantage of. He decides to go after his sister, but Lily refuses to give him the address he needs unless he takes her with him. She is afraid that Zach will try to ruin his sister's happiness, and wants to be there for support. They reluctantly set of together, but upon reaching their destination they find a ransom note instead of Zach's sister.

Zach then sets out to get his sister back, with the assistance of a few of his marine friends. He also has to deal with the growing attraction between him and Lily, who turns out to be quite different than what he had believed her to be at first. On top of all of this, there is an unknown enemy of Zach's stalking Lily. He believes her to be Zach's "woman", and intends to use her to get to Zach."
