Plot Summary of Katrina and The Lost City of New Orleans
"Rod Amis is a bartender in New Orleans, in and around the French Quarter in the years before hurricane Katrina devastates the city. As Katrina hits his city and he frantically looks for his friends, he is both saddened and outraged.

He is saddened by the destruction of the city. He is outraged by the slow reaction of his country to devastation in New Orleans and the "surprise" about New Orleans that the news media and government officials express."
