| Plot Summary of Otherwise Engaged |
"Eve is a 36 year old advertising executive living in San Francisco with her boyfriend of three years, Michael. When Eve hands down a marriage ultimatum to Michael, he responds with a lukewarm marriage proposal. Michael has one divorce under his belt and a teenage daughter that calls someone else Daddy. Eve realizes that Michael has past relationship angst, but she also realizes that the odds of finding a husband after the age of 35 are pretty dismal. From the moment Eve says yes to Michael's proposal she turns into a neurotic mess. Suddenly, Eve isn't so sure about Michael, who up to this point has been her number one obsession in life. Eve starts doubting their relationship, doubting her love for Michael and questioning whether their marriage will last. As Eve throws herself into the wedding plans and immerses herself in bridal magazines and wedding gown fittings, the harsh reality of marriage starts to sink in. In comedic fashion, Eve ponders being with one man for the rest of her life and blanches at the sight of Michael's discarded sock on the floor of their apartment. "
