Plot Summary of Smoked
"Smoke Dugan is on the run. Smoke, a dapper, aging bombmaker, drops out of sight because of a misunderstanding with his employers about an airplane crash and $2.5 million in cash. When his employers discover Smoke has retired to the picturesque, seaside city of Portland, Maine, they send high-paid assassin Denny Cruz up from New York in a new Mercedes to collect him.

Cruz is the wrong man for the job. After twenty-five years, he has lost his thirst for killing and is contemplating retirement himself. But two sadistic young murderers are also along for the ride, and both are eager to make their mark. One of these is Roland Moss – an angry, not-so-gentle giant. When Smoke puts the torch to the first young killer and then escapes, Cruz and Moss move to Plan B. They decide to kidnap Smoke's girlfriend, Lola Bell."
