| Plot Summary of Angel of Mercy |
"Brad McKenna is a DEA agent on the run from a vicious drug gang with ties to South America. After his partner Jim is killed in a shootout, Brad is chased into the Florida Everglades where he is shot and left for dead. When nurse Wendy Hawk is driving her airboat through the Everglades the last thing she expects to see is an unconcious man lying in the swamp. Wendy manages to drag the man on board her boat and takes him to her cabin where she rids him of his muddy clothes and takes care of a flesh wound on his head. When Brad wakes up he is naked and being cared for by a gorgeous blonde who reminds him of an angel. Brad introduces himself as Bill Smith and tells Wendy that he got lost in the Everglades after his car broke down. When Wendy sees a picture of "Bill" on the national news that night during a segment on a violent shootout in Florida, she is floored by "Bill's" lies. Brad tells Wendy that he is a Dea agent, that his partner was just killed and that he is being chased by a group of violent men. He also introduces himself as Brad McKenna. Although Wendy is a bit wary, she instinctively senses that Brad is telling her the truth. Brad tells Wendy that the killers may still be out there in the Everglades and he doesn't want to bring the DEA agency heads into the Everglades to pick him up for fear that it might draw the killers attention to Wendy. Utilizing Wendy's knowledge of the Everglades, Brad vows to get out of the swamp himself and without endangering Wendy. Brad and Wendy share a strong attraction and they soon end up making love. As their relationship deepens Wendy starts dreaming of a future with Brad. Wendy's dreams are a bit dashed when Brad tells her he has no intention of getting married or bringing children into the world.
As the ruthless killers hone in on Brad and Wendy's whereabouts, the couple must stay one step ahead of them in order to stay alive.
