Plot Summary of Cobwebs in the Broiler: Adventures of a Very Wicked Stepmother
"Since there are more women than men on earth, Val Szabo, the main character, has gotten to the point where she realizes that she may not find Prince Charming in her lifetime. Imagine her surprise, then, when she does find him, and he has two small children from a previous marriage.

Childless by choice, and knowing absolutely nothing about raising kids (especially someone else's!),Val plunges feet first into the adventure of step parenting while trying to appear sane at the same time. The results of this questionable journey range from the hilarious (i.e., when she and her husband Steve are examining Matt's manure on a Saturday night) to the downright scary (i.e., when Tara gets her driver's license).

Val's adventure starts when the kids are two and four and continues through their teen years. She and Steve soon become the custodial parent and step parent, which opens up other "exciting" avenues of adventure and discovery such as how to deal with the ex-wife.

This is a modern day romance story, and above all, a story about how one woman deals with life, work, getting older, and how not to be driven crazy while the kids are growing up.    "
