Plot Summary of Amanda Bright@home
"35 year old Amanda Bright is a former publicist for the National Endowment of the Arts who is now a stay at home mom. Amanda and her husband Bob live in a small house in Washington, D.C. with their three year old daughter, Sophie and five year old son, Ben. Amanda is a very intelligent woman, one who graduated from Brown University. Although Amanda loves her children she is constantly obsessing about what she's missing out on in the working world. Amanda's feelings intensify when her husband, who works for the Department of Justice, lands the case of his career. Bob will be working on a huge antitrust case against a major company, Megabyte. To make matters worse, Amanda's best friend, the gorgeous and talented Susie Morris, lands her own television show and is dating a millionaire, Jim Hochmayer. Amanda starts looking around her and envying her friend Christine's gigantic house and refined children. Why is it always her children who are disrupting playdates and hitting other children? When son Ben is suspended from preschool for terrorizing another child with a peanut butter cookie, Amanda nearly throws her hands up in defeat. Amanda feels burnt out from the relentless days of running after her children, doing their laundry, making their lunches, picking up their scattered toys and negotiating their conflicts. And increasingly, Amanda is feeling disconnected from Bob, who is consumed by the Megabyte case. Amanda can't remember the last time they had sex. She starts to believe that Bob is having an affair with a female co-worker.    "
