Plot Summary of The Architect
"The Architect is the sixth installment of Keith Ablow's Frank Clevenger series. The book opens up with West Crosse, a Yale educated architect with an unhealthy urge for perfection using a surgical saw to cut through the spine of his victim to remove vertebrae. Meanwhile, FBI psychiatrist Frank Clevenger is battling with his addiction to alcohol while dealing with the problems he's having with his adopted son Billy. Clevenger doesnt get assigned to the case until Crosse murders Chase Van Myers in Chicago. Then the book becomes a high-octane cat and mouse thriller. Clevenger starts to put the evidence together and figures out that the victims all have a link to Yale's secret club Skull & Bones. Crosse, however, is still murdering people he's met through his association with his clientele. The stakes get raised as Crosse lands the coveted architectural job for the White House. But Crosse has bigger plans than putting an addition onto the East Wing. He wants to rid the first family (like his other victims) of what he percieved to be their imperfection -- a mentally handicapped daughter. Without enough evidence to pick up Crosse for questioning, let alone an arrest, Whitney McCormick agrees to keep a keen eye on Crosse."
