| Plot Summary of Sex, Murder and a Double Latte |
"This is the story of Sophie Katz, a half-black, half-Jewish woman who lives in San Francisco and writes murder mysteries. Sophie's wisecracking personality gets shaken up a bit when she starts to see signs that someone is breaking into her apartment.
Sophie is further unnerved when there are copycat crimes based on her novels: a woman killed with a hatchet in a park, for example. Everyone around her starts to look suspicious. In particular, a Russian man named Anatoly whom she meets at Starbucks seems to be up to no good.
Anatoly has a hazy job that no one really knows about, and Sophie begins to suspect that he may be involved in past murders as well. She wants to free a rapper who may be unjustly in prison, so she and her friends decide to get to the bottom of Anatoly. But is there someone they forgot to investigate?"
