| Plot Summary of Hospital |
"The author witnesses one of his best friends suffer a nervous breakdown that results in the hospitalization and psychiatric treatment of the friend in question. After signing himself out of the hospital on his own accord, 4 hours later the psychiatric patient is back to work in full swing. The patient's occupation? A doctor!
This event led author Michael Medved on a search to find out exactly 'who' medical professionals really are, and what their actual lives consist of both on the job and at home. Michael was able to persuade the staff of an actual San Francisco Medical Centre to open their lives and stories to him in a biographical look at over 30 medical professionals. Doctors, nurses, clerks, psychiatrists and other medical staff take a hard look at themselves and their co-workers in a tell tale book that allows readers a rare glimpse into the real world of medicine.
