| Plot Summary of Almost A Bride |

"Arabella Lacey has never been particularly fond of her half brother, Frederick, the Earl of Dunston. When Arabella receives a visit at her familys' estate from the enigmatic Jack Fortescu, she is shocked to hear that Frederick has committed suicide. Jack informs Arabella that Frederick has gambled away the family's fortune and mansion during a night of gambling, with Jack emerging as the victor. Ready to pack her bags and live on the streets, Arabella is presented with a ruthless offer. Enter into a marriage of convenience with Jack or be left homeless and without resources. Although Arabella balks at the idea of a loveless marriage to a stranger, she reluctantly gives in and becomes Mrs. Jack Fortescu. As Arabella and Jack settle into their marriage of convenience they begin to develop real feelings for each other. Although Jack had set out to ruin Arabella's brother for reasons of revenge, he is discovering that his phony marriage is starting to feel a lot like love. "
