Plot Summary of Russian Wife: Your Greatest Blessing Or Your Biggest Mistake?
"In this book, William and Julia Rossedahl, a Russian-American married couple, are discussing the subject of Russian women, Internet dating, and Russian-American marriage. The major problem with this endeavor, the authors point out, is lack of information. Many people who plunge into it have a very vague idea of what it is like and what red flags they should be watching out for. Men looking for a Russian wife are often driven by popular stereotypes, not always correct. The book addresses some of them in the first chapter titled “Russian Wife: myths and truth about.”

Several “myths” are dispelled, one of them being the notion that Russian women make perfect housewives who will do everything and demand nothing. Julia flat out laughs at the idea and says that while many Russian women are indeed good at housekeeping, you'd better forget about finding a “free washing/cleaning/cooking machine plus a sexual device.” Chapter 2 deals with Internet dating agencies and scammers – women (and sometimes men) who enter this process with the sole purpose of scamming you out of your money. This chapter introduces different types of scammers and some of their techniques. Chapter 3 answers the question of “What kind(s) of Russian women are considering international marriage and why?”. Chapter 4 discusses language barrier, cultural differences, and nostalgia.

Throughout the book, the authors take turns sharing their opinions about each and every topic introduced, which allows the reader to hear both parts, the American husband and the Russian wife. "
