| Plot Summary of Valentine |
"Sylvester Gilbraith has just learned that he stands to inherit a fortune from his enemy, the earl of Stoneridge. Of course, there's a catch. He must marry one of the Earl's four granddaughters. When he meets Theodora Belmont, the fiery, tomboyish granddaughter of the earl, he feels an immediate attraction to the beautiful young woman. But Theodora has no intention of marrying Sylvster until she discovers that it is the only way to keep a roof over her familys' head. Once married, Theodora and Sylvester share a blazing attraction that leads to intimacy. But there are dark shadows on the horizon. Sylvester has a past that continues to haunt him. During his years in military service Sylvester spent one year in a French prison camp. Upon eventually returning to England he was branded a traitor and a coward by members of the armed forces. Unfortunately, Sylvester bears no memories as to how he ended up in captivity. Sylvester is determined to salvage his honor, despite the dangers that await him. And when Theodora discovers Sylvester's secret regarding her grandfather's estate, he may lose her forever.
