Plot Summary of The Cobra and the Concubine
"Badra is a concubine to an Arab warlord. One night, the warlord is attacked by the Khasmin "The Warriors of the Wind." Badra has been raped brutally by her master and seeks to escape from him. She follows the Khasmin leader in the hope that he will take her from her master. She is reluctant to go so Jabari asks his brother Khepri to help Badra. Badra is to be Jabari's concubine but he soon realizes that she has been raped for many years. He appoints Khepri to be Badra's falcon guard. Khepri is an orphan who was found in the desert as a young child. He and Badra quickly become the best of friends. Five years pass and Khepri decides to ask Badra to marry him. Khepri does not know how Badra's former master raped her. Badra is scared of sex so she knows she cannot become Khepri's wife. Khepri feels betrayed and so follows his newly found grandfather to England. Khepri is actually Kenneth, an English aristocrat. For a year Badra and Kenneth have no contact. But soon, Badra learns that her daughter that she had thought missing is being kept in a harem, being trained to a concubine. In order to save her Badra must steal a valuable necklace from Kenneth and sell it in England. Badra travels to England to sell the necklace but eventually gives it back to Kenneth. Kenneth follows Badra back to Egypt and again tries to persuade her to marry him. Kenneth finds out about Badra's daughter and her past and helps her. They both fall deeply in love and marry. "
