Plot Summary of Coming Back to Me
"Gary is a young man who wants a family. Orphaned as a baby and raised by an elderly aunt who passes away, as a young adult he is left alone in the world. Good looking and nice enough to date often, he cannot find his love buddy and is envious of his friends who have started families. One day he finally sees Molly, sitting alone in a New Jersey diner, reading and being comfortable in her own skin. Gary falls in love.

Molly is a young teacher who only has an estranged older sister, Suzanne, as family by the time Gary meets her. We know why the sisters are not in contact. Suzanne was the caretaker of Molly when they were young due to the dysfunctional nature of their mother. When Suzanne became a beautiful teen, she fell in love with Ivan, and they ran away together, never bothering to keep Molly involved in their lives. Life was hard and Suzanne eventually contacted Molly only to borrow money several times and never pay it back. She grew resentful and cut off all ties when Molly stopped helping her financially.

Molly and Gary marry and she becomes pregnant delivering beautiful baby boy Otis. Three days later she is in critical condition in a comotose state. Gary has nobody to help him with his baby and decides to call Suzanne to help him. Although a bad start to their living arrangement, Gary and Suzanne grow to depend on each other and start to have feelings for each other, only to have Molly wake up out of her coma forming a slight love triangle. Molly is not healthy by the time the book ends, but Molly, Gary, Otis, and Suzanne are family."
