| Plot Summary of Nepal's Maoist Movement and Implications for India and China |
"Since the start of the Maoist movement in the kingdom of Nepal, it has changed the otherwise peaceful mountains and green valleys into a deadly battlefield. 11,000Nepalese have died in the insurgency, adversely affected the economy of Nepal and posed grave threats to the security and stability of the state itself. Furthermore, India and China - the economic and military heavyweights of the 21st century have high stakes in a chaotic and a messy Nepal with whom both share porous and long borders. A lengthy battle in Nepal while exposing the Indo-Gangetic plain will incite the 8 million Nepalese Diaspora living in India while it will also pose a risk to the stability of Tibet.
This book discusses the genesis of the Maoist movement, the history of communist movement in Nepal, the saga of human rights violations and implications for India and China ending with facts and figures of the insurgency."
