| Plot Summary of Heart Song |
"In part two of the Logan Family series, Melody is hired by Kenneth, a local artist, to be his assistant. Melody believes Kenneth is her father, which Kenneth denies. So, Melody starts to have romantic feelings for Kenneth, especially when he chooses her to be the model for his new project. But then an old friend of Kenneth's, Holly, arrives, ruining Melody's plans. Holly, an astrologer, is kind and friendly to Melody, and becomes the big sister Melody sorely needs. Melody follows her advice about watching the stars and relaxation; she also decides to give Cary, an old love interest and distant cousin, a second chance.
Melody receives a letter and fashion catalogue from an old friend, Alice. In the letter, Alice remarks upon the likeness of one of the models to Melody's mother, who recently died in a car accident. When Melody looks at it, she sees that it is her mother! Kenneth has a friend in advertising located where the picture was taken, which was in L.A. Despite Grandma Olivia's feelings on the matter, Melody is determined to go to L.A. and rescue her mother from whatever sort of mess she's gotten herself into."
