Plot Summary of Bliss
"    Lady Helen of Tiernay and Lord Hethe of Holden are bitter enemies. Lord Holden, who is never even at Holden due to his constant travels for battle, is tired of the Tyrant of Tiernay making false accusations of abuse and mistreatment of his serfs.
Lady Tiernay is tired of the Hemmer of Holden abusing his serfs, leaving her to pick up the pieces and aid the poor, beaten people. When the King's man comes and declares that she must marry Lord Holden due to King Henry's decree, she is mortified and puts a plan together to repel the Lord with rancid breath, food and other machinations. Lord Holden, who is relieved to find Lady Helen a beautiful woman, quickly changes his opinion when he catches a whiff of her, but he soon comes to realize that it is all a ruse to get him to cry off from the wedding.
The two come to realize that their is no way out of the marriage, and soon Helen does not want to when she realizes that Hethe has been framed and someone else is behind the evil acts against the serfs. The couple embroil themselves to discover the villian and in the process find that they have a deep and lasting love for one another."
