| Plot Summary of Seventeen and In Between: A Novel |
"Elsie Edwards used to be fat and ugly, but now she has slimmed down and blossomed, but her self esteem has not. She has a boyfriend, but he's pressuring her into sex and she's not sure she's ready.
Elsie's best friend has her own problems with her parents getting a divorce and her brother and father moving away. Elsie's little sister is discovering boys and asks Elsie for advice.
Elsie's biggest problem comes when she meets back up with her old best friend Jack. Jack has moved to work, and she finds herself attracted to him even as she is going on the pill so she can be with Craddoc, her boyfriend. Elsie must deal with her feelings or she risks losing both Jack and Craddoc."
