" Number 13 of the Heartland series deals with overcoming disasters. Heartland is a horse ranch run by Amy, her sister Lou,and their grandpa. Amy's boyfriend Ty, and Ben also work at this ranch dedicated to healing hurt and abused horses.
First an outbreak of equine flu causes the ranch to be quarantined. Amy and Ty move the horses with the flu to the back barn.
Just as some of the horses are getting better a storm starts brewing. A tornado tears through the ranch sending a tree into the roof of the back barn. Amy and Ty rush to rescue the trapped sick horses. The roof collapses just as they reach the horses. Lou, Grandpa, and Ben manage to get Amy and five of the horses out.
